MAKE TIME FOR YOUR SKIN

A fresh start for a dull complexion

Looking for smoother-feeling skin and a brighter-looking complexion? Explore microdermabrasion, a mechanical exfoliation treatment focused on the skin’s surface.

Part of our new spa services in Tahlequah, this treatment starts with a conversation about your skin, your routine, and what you would like to improve.

What is microdermabrasion?

A handheld device gently exfoliates the outermost layer of skin. This noninvasive approach can help a complexion look smoother, brighter, and more even after a course of treatments. It may be considered for dullness or uneven surface texture and tone.

Microdermabrasion is different from deeper dermabrasion and from microneedling, which punctures the skin. Ask the team which method best fits your concern. Results vary and are usually temporary.

Understand your options

Compare available services, expected benefits, and aftercare before deciding on treatment.

Your appointment, step by step

Start with an assessment: Share your concerns, skin history, medications, and current products. Confirm suitability and ask what improvement is realistic.

Understand the treatment: Ask which device is used, what the appointment includes, and how long to allow. A light sanding sensation may be felt during exfoliation.

Leave with a plan: Request instructions for moisturizing, sun protection, and restarting your regular skincare. Confirm when another visit would be appropriate.

Care beyond the appointment

Most people have little interruption to their routine, but temporary redness, slight swelling, or sensitivity can occur. Bruising, stinging, and increased sun sensitivity are also possible. People prone to dark marks after skin injury should discuss pigmentation risks.

Tell your treating professional about cold sores, easy scarring, and current or past isotretinoin use. A growing, bleeding, or changing skin spot needs medical evaluation before cosmetic treatment.

Bring your skincare products or a list to the consultation so you can get clear guidance on what to use afterward.

Microdermabrasion questions

Is it the same as microneedling?

No. Microdermabrasion exfoliates the surface; microneedling creates controlled punctures. They have different purposes, risks, and recovery needs. An assessment can help you compare them.

How many treatments will I need?

Ask for a recommendation tailored to your goals and skin response. A series may be suggested, and follow-up treatments may help maintain the effect. Confirm the schedule before purchasing a package.

Can I book before a special event?

Discuss the timing with the team, especially if this is your first treatment. Allow for possible redness or sensitivity instead of assuming your skin will be event-ready immediately.

Is it right for sensitive skin?

That requires an individual assessment. Describe any irritation, skin conditions, recent procedures, or reactions to products so the team can recommend an appropriate approach.

How much does it cost?

Contact the team for current pricing. Ask what each visit includes and whether a proposed plan involves multiple appointments.

Where will my treatment take place?

Microdermabrasion is part of our new spa services. Confirm availability, your appointment time, and the spa location before arriving.
