Get answers. Find the right support.

Feeling run down can raise a lot of questions. Before reaching for another quick fix, take time to understand what your body needs.

401 Medical Center offers B12 injections as part of individualized care. A consultation helps determine whether B12 deficiency may be contributing to your symptoms and whether injections, an oral supplement, or another approach makes sense.

Your health deserves a plan based on you.

An essential vitamin with an important role

Vitamin B12 supports healthy red blood cell formation, nerve function, and DNA production. When levels are too low, treatment can help correct the deficiency and related health problems.

Injections deliver B12 without relying on absorption through the digestive tract. Your provider considers the cause and severity of a deficiency when choosing treatment.

When a conversation may help

Persistent fatigue

Unexplained tiredness or weakness deserves an evaluation. B12 deficiency is one possible cause among many.

Dietary questions

A vegan or vegetarian diet, or limited intake of B12-containing foods, may be a reason to review your intake and supplementation.

Absorption concerns

Certain digestive conditions, stomach or intestinal surgery, and some medications can affect B12 status.

Symptoms alone do not diagnose a deficiency. New numbness, tingling, or balance changes should be discussed promptly with a healthcare professional.

B12 questions, answered

Will B12 give me more energy?

Correcting a deficiency may improve related fatigue. Extra B12 has not been shown to improve energy or endurance in people who already get enough. We focus on the cause of your symptoms rather than promise an instant boost.

Are injections better than tablets?

Not for everyone. Oral B12 can be appropriate for some people; injections may be selected when absorption or other clinical concerns make them a better fit. Your provider explains the choice.

How often will I need an injection?

The schedule depends on your diagnosis, the prescribed product, and your response. Initial treatment and maintenance may differ. Some causes of deficiency require ongoing treatment; others do not.

What will the injection feel like?

You may feel a brief needle sting, followed by temporary soreness or redness. Your clinician will explain the injection and any aftercare. Tell us if you have a history of fainting with needles or previous injection reactions.

Are there risks or precautions?

Side effects depend on the product and can include injection-site discomfort, rash, or digestive symptoms. Serious allergic reactions are possible. Tell your provider about cobalt or B12 allergies, all medications, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and relevant medical conditions. Seek emergency care for trouble breathing or swelling of the face or throat after treatment.

Is this a weight-loss injection?

B12 injections should not be presented as a proven weight-loss treatment or a way to burn fat. They address an appropriate B12-related clinical need.

What does it cost?
